Bio/Description

Maria Medvedeva is responsible for supporting, developing, and implementing academic advising programs that help undergraduate students make informed decisions about their paths through Princeton’s curriculum. These programs include core academic orientation programs for new students (ClassPath, Academic Integrity, College 101), the peer adviser program, and major/minor declaration programming, as well as the online platforms and systems that support these programs. Maria also offers supplementary academic advising to first-year and sophomore students on an as-needed basis, and in collaboration with the core residential college advising teams.

Maria received her Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Chicago. Before assuming her current role, she taught in the Princeton Writing Program and in the Freshman Scholars Institute and served as a faculty adviser at Wilson College (now New College West) and assistant dean for studies at Rockefeller College. Maria is a proud athletics fellow for Women's and Men's Cross Country and Track & Field Teams.
