The Office of the Dean of the College welcomes Rebekah Peeples Massengill as the next associate dean of the college, effective January 18.
As associate dean of the college, Rebekah will work closely with academic departments, programs and individual faculty members on the development of curricular proposals for new or enhanced offerings. She will manage the course approval process and the Undergraduate Announcement update process. In the coming year, Rebekah will serve as a staff member for the president’s strategic planning task force on general education. She will also support the Office of the Dean of the College on all matters related to accreditation.
Rebekah’s extensive background in advising and teaching prepares her well for the portfolio of the associate dean. In her previous role as director of studies at Mathey College, Rebekah coordinated advising efforts between students, faculty academic advisers, peer academic advisers and departmental faculty to ensure a positive educational experience for all students. During her tenure at Princeton, Rebekah has been a lecturer in both the Department of Sociology and the Princeton Writing Program. She has also served as coordinator of the Ways of Knowing seminars offered through the Freshman Scholars Institute.
Rebekah’s passion for teaching, strong quantitative skills, and commitment to our outstanding liberal arts curriculum make her an excellent choice as the new associate dean.
