Dean Avens directly oversees the academic and residential life advising for all students affiliated with Rockefeller College, and works closely with the head of college and the staff at Rockefeller to provide support and programming.
Oliver Avens was a faculty member in the politics department from 1992 to 2001 and director of studies at Forbes College, before becoming dean of Rockefeller College in 2005. He has taught in the freshman seminar and writing programs at Princeton, as well as the Woodrow Wilson School. He earned his B.A. at Williams and his Ph.D. in political theory at Yale.
