Carla Hailey Penn
The office manager/executive assistant supports the dean of the college in the organization and management of all programs and projects for which the dean is responsible. She has oversight of the Office of the Dean of the College operating and restricted funds budgets. She manages administrative searches and serves as a general resource on campuswide policies and procedures for office heads and managers of affiliated departments. She also provides support for curricular programs, special projects and standing committees of the Faculty; undertakes research projects and collects and analyzes data as background for committee deliberations and special initiatives; works on projects collaboratively with other staff members in the dean's office; and manages the collection of materials for, as well as the production and dissemination of, publications developed in the dean's office. The manager/executive assistant organizes and sets priorities among a variety of complex tasks, and also represents the office to, and interacts on a daily basis with, administrators, faculty members and students, as well as outside organizations and individuals. She also handles correspondence on behalf of the dean and manages the dean's calendar.
Carla Hailey Penn has worked at Princeton University for ten years. Previously, she worked as a manager at AT&T for 19 years. She holds a Master of Science degree from Stevens Institute of Technology.
